Value Delivered

Dynalectric San Diego provided design-build services for this project, which consisted of an expansion to the existing central plant, new site utilities, and the addition of administration and operations buildings. During the work, our team was able to upgrade the entire campus’s security system and move it to the new system while the facility was occupied with inmates.

Client Objectives

The project’s goal is to provide inmates with opportunities to work, learn, and earn incentives which will eventually allow for a smooth reentry into the community.

Solutions

Our team was able to review and analyze the existing site conditions, reduce our scope of work, and provide the owner with credits, reducing the cost of the project. We confirmed that the existing underground communication conduit system had enough spare capacity to pull the new cable in and metered the loads on the existing generator to determine that it could handle the new electromagnetic loads for the new building.

Our work consisted of providing complete electrical services, including medium and low voltage systems:

  • Fire alarm and life safety
  • Telecommunications/data
  • Security/close caption television
