The BioMed Realty i3 campus consists of three new research and lab buildings that were built with the additional challenge of a compressed schedule. Dynalectric San Diego planned out all of the work so that the installation was seamless. Our team was able to assist with and respond to design changes throughout the project, meeting the client’s accelerated timeline.
Client Objectives
Illumina wanted a new research campus that would provide employees with an interconnected work-play experience. The three buildings were designed to create an outdoor triangular courtyard that features an herbal garden, restaurant/café, bocce ball court, and a fitness center.
Solutions
Dynalectric San Diego’s scope of work included complete electrical systems for the new buildings, architectural lighting, fire alarm, security, and CCTV, building automation, and instrumentation and controls. Our team took advantage of our in-house panel shop and constructed a UL listed control panel for motorized window shades and vehicle barriers.
The work also included installation of a hydrogen fuel cell and providing the appropriate documentation for LEED certification.
